These terms explain how bookings, payments, cancellations, communications, and website use work for sessions with Darrian Knotts, Certified Hypnotherapist. Please read them before submitting the contact/booking form.

Who we are

This website and practice are operated by Darrian Knotts, Certified Hypnotherapist (“we,” “us,” “our”). Sessions are offered in person in Loves Park, Illinois.

Nature of services (Important)

Hypnotherapy is a complementary, educational service. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure medical or mental-health conditions and is not medical advice. You remain aware and in control at all times; outcomes depend on your choices and follow-through. No results are guaranteed. For medical or mental-health needs, continue care with a licensed clinician and follow emergency procedures when appropriate.

Booking & confirmation

  • Submitting a form or receiving a quote does not hold an appointment.

  • Your session is reserved when we confirm availability and you complete the required steps listed in your confirmation (e.g., intake forms and any deposit/retainer if applicable).

  • We may decline bookings that present safety, ethical, or scheduling conflicts.

Pricing, payments & refunds

  • Current pricing will be provided before you book and may vary by session length or service.

  • If a retainer/deposit is required, it will be stated in your confirmation; unless otherwise noted, retainers are applied to your balance and may be non-refundable to reserve time.

  • The balance (if any) is due as stated in your confirmation (e.g., at or before the session).

  • Refunds, rescheduling, and late-cancel fees follow our Refund Policy.

Cancellations & rescheduling

  • Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or move your appointment.

  • Late-cancel, no-show, and reschedule windows are outlined in your confirmation and the Refund Policy.

  • If we must cancel due to illness, emergency, or force majeure, we will offer the next available time or a refund of amounts paid for the canceled session.

Session expectations & eligibility

  • Sessions are typically in person in Loves Park, IL. Remote sessions may be offered case-by-case.

  • You agree to arrive on time, participate in good faith, and follow reasonable instructions that support your stated goals.

  • Clients under 18 must have a parent/guardian present and provide written consent.

  • Please do not attend under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed substances.

Communications (email/SMS/phone)

  • By providing contact information, you consent to messages related to your request (scheduling, confirmations, reminders).

  • Opt out at any time: reply STOP to SMS or use the unsubscribe link in emails. Message/data rates may apply.

Confidentiality & privacy

  • We respect your privacy and keep records consistent with business, legal, and ethical standards.

  • Do not submit protected health information (PHI) through website forms.

  • Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

  • Site content is for general information and does not replace professional advice.

  • All text, graphics, and media are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright. You may not copy, republish, or exploit materials without permission.

Disclaimers

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the services or this site will not exceed the amount you paid for the session giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability where such limits are prohibited by law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the site or breach of these terms, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

Force majeure

We are not liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control (e.g., severe weather, power outages, illness, emergencies, acts of authorities).

Changes to services, pricing, or terms

We may update services, pricing, or these terms at any time. Changes are effective when posted with an updated “Last Updated” date. Material changes may be highlighted on the site.

Governing law & venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in Winnebago County, Illinois (or another appropriate Illinois venue) will have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes, unless otherwise required by law.

Severability & entire agreement

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect. These terms, together with your confirmation/booking details and our posted policies (Privacy Policy, Refund Policy), form the entire agreement regarding your use of the site and services.
